Who We Are
All Saints’ Episcopal Church
is a part of the Diocese of North Carolina and recognizes and accedes to the
authority of the Diocese and General Convention of the Episcopal Church.
All Saints’ is a loving Christian community called by God to maintain our
faith in a diverse and changing world. We are a welcoming and inclusive
community. We are the sole Episcopal Church in Roanoke Rapids and the
largest, most viable Episcopal Church in a forty-mile radius. Many people
at All Saints’ are professionally aligned with the local paper mill, the
departments of recreation and tourism, the retail industry and the local
health care facilities. We also see the importance of adopting new families
who are associated with different vocations in this rapidly growing area.
All Saints’ is a family oriented community of faith. We strive to encourage
and support all people in their individual and diverse journeys of faith.
Together we teach and learn, laugh and cry, discover our similarities and
explore our differences. We strive to offer each other our care and support
in all the stages and challenges of life as we journey toward a harmony of
body, mind and soul. We are an open, progressive Christian community which
welcomes all who seek to worship God and follow Christ’s Divine Commission.
Where We Are
In
response to God's powerful and transforming presence, we strive to seek and
serve Christ in all people. All Saints’ church has refocused it vision over
the past few years. We have been through some challenging circumstances.
The community of All Saints’ embraces our past, lives fully in the present
as we move forward on our faith journey into the future. We see ourselves
emerging with a renewed sense of vision that focuses on empowering the
laity, continuing our sense of community, and developing our youth
fellowship.
Together we work to understand
the difficult issues and choices of life. Whether we find answers or agree
to live with the questions, we are committed to responding with the
compassion of Christ.
What
we are doing
We are doing great things within our church
as well as outside of it. We are active in missions; we held a STOP HUNGER
NOW workshop that fed 10,000 people in South America. We are also exploring
a future Youth Mission trip to New Orleans and we plan to partner with other
Episcopal Churches for a medical mission trip in the summer of 2009. UTO
(United Thank Offering), CPC (Church Periodical Club) are two organizations
that we endorse and support. We offer ECW (Episcopal Church Women) and
Brotherhood programs every month. We also have established a Food Bank at
All Saints’ and we are active in supporting local ministries in the area.
We have dynamic ministries for all ages and we hold a mid-week Bible study
from Sept. to May.
Come join us! We will help you discover
for yourself God’s love, acceptance and forgiveness. We strive to know and
love Christ and to make Christ known through prayer, liturgy, outreach and
Christian community.
