Welcome to All Saints’ Episcopal Church

www.allsaintsrr.org

Welcome!  We extend a warm welcome to our guests.  As a new member or visitor to All Saints’, please take a few moments to read about our practices, our worship services, and our ministries.  We hope you enjoy your visit with us.  We see ourselves as an open, welcoming community and we hope you agree.

Mission:  All Saints’ Episcopal Church is a  Eucharistically centered Christian community committed to sharing the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ through worship, teaching fellowship, outreach and personal example.

Getting to know you:  If you are visiting with us, please sign our guest book located in the Narthex (the entry to the church).  If you are seeking information, please fill out one of the cards that can be found in each pew.  The ushers in the back of the church have a welcome folder for newcomers.  We invite you to join us in the Parish Hall (located behind the church) for coffee and fellowship following the 11:00 service.  Our fellowship time follows the 10:00 service when we are on our summer schedule (from June to September).

Our services:  we hold Sunday worship services at 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (10:00 a.m. during the summer).  We are guided by the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer (BCP), these are called our black prayer books and are located in each pew.  Also, at the principal (11:00 & 10:00) service, the liturgy is printed in your bulletin.  We use the red Hymnal from the Episcopal Church and they are also located in each pew.

Communion: the Episcopal Church welcomes all baptized persons to receive Communion.  As a sacramental church, we offer the Holy Eucharist every Sunday at both services.  The ushers will indicate when you should move forward to the altar by way of the center aisle.  If you do not wish to receive Communion at the rail, please indicate your desire to receive a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest.  Otherwise, to receive Communion, hold out your hands and the Priest will place the bread there and say, “The Body of Christ, the Bread of Heaven.”  Then the Chalice Bearer will say, “The Blood of Christ, the Cup of Salvation.”  As you choose, you may eat the bread right after you receive it or you may dip it (called intinction) the wine.

Our Music:  Music is very important to our Worship.  Our choir always welcomes new members.  Judith Harris is our organist and Jim Lee is our choir master.  The Choir rehearses on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.  Our choir does not meet during the summer months.

Children:  We believe that worshipping together is one of the very best gifts we have to offer our children; we want the children present for as much of the service as possible.  In order for this to work, the children may need help with the language and flow of the liturgy.  There are “church bags” for children in the Narthex (the back of the chuch).  We also have a nursery available for the 11:00 a.m. service (Sept. – June) and for the 10:00 a.m. service in the summer months.  Children are always welcome at All Saints’.

We offer Christian Formation for children each Sunday at 10:00 a.m., September through June.  Formation classes are available for nursery-aged children through high school.  These classes are led by parents, lay ministers, clergy and guests.

Other Educational Opportunities:  During the year (September through June) we offer a mid-week Bible Study in the Parish House on Thursday evenings.  We always have a light dinner before the Bible Study.  During Lent, we meet each Wednesday for a simple Eucharist Service, followed by dinner and a program.

Handicap Accessible:  All Saints’ has handicap facilities available in the church and in the Parish House (located behind the church).

How to Become a Member

By Baptism:  If you are not baptized and seek to be part of Christ’s body and the church, please let the priest or church member know.  Preparations and arrangements will be made for you.

By Letter of Transfer:  It is customary in the Episcopal Church when moving from one parish to another to do so by Letter of Transfer.  This can be accomplished by the Parish Administrator requesting a transfer from your former parish.  Once the Letter of Transfer is received, you become a member of All Saints’.

By Confirmation:  By attending an Inquirers Class and being received to the Bishop for confirmation in the Episcopal Church.

By Reception:  By attending an Inquirer’s Class and being received by the Bishop.  This is done for example, if you have already been confirmed in the Roman Catholic or the Lutheran Church.

Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.  You can also check us out on the web.  Our web address and phone numbers can be found in your weekly bulletin.
